Teen Charged With First-Degree Murder After Alleged Dispute Over Car-Reprogramming Device

An 18-year-old man known on social media as “Vino” is facing serious criminal charges after authorities accused him of orchestrating a deadly encounter involving one of his own friends.

According to investigators, Dauveyae White allegedly lured the victim to an alley in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood before a fatal shooting occurred. Prosecutors claim the motive was connected to a “ProPad” device, a tool reportedly used for programming and reprogramming vehicle keys.

Authorities allege that White had been portraying a lavish lifestyle on social media, frequently posting photos and videos featuring cash, luxury vehicles, and high-performance cars.

Investigators later claimed that some of the vehicles shown online were connected to stolen vehicle operations, though those allegations remain part of the ongoing criminal case.

Law enforcement officials say surveillance footage, digital evidence, and social media activity became key elements in the investigation.

According to prosecutors, evidence gathered by investigators helped establish a timeline leading up to the fatal incident.

White has since been charged with first-degree murder and is expected to face further legal proceedings as the case moves through the court system.

As with all criminal cases, the allegations remain claims made by prosecutors, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The case has generated significant attention online, particularly because of the allegations surrounding social media posts and the contrast between the lifestyle portrayed publicly and the accusations outlined by authorities.

Investigators have not publicly disclosed all details of the evidence presented in the case, and additional information may emerge as court proceedings continue.

The victim’s family and loved ones are meanwhile mourning the loss of a young life taken in what authorities describe as a tragic and preventable act of violence.

As the legal process unfolds, the case is expected to remain closely watched due to its combination of social media, alleged vehicle theft activity, and serious criminal charges.
