Latto Appears to Call Out Cardi B on New Track, Fans Demand a Rap Battle

A new song from Latto has sparked major discussion across the hip-hop world after fans noticed what appears to be a lyrical response aimed at Cardi B.

On her new album Big Mama, Latto released the track “Gimmie Dat,” where she seemingly references a controversy that began after a leaked phone call from 2025. In that recording, Cardi B made remarks about Latto before later apologizing publicly and reportedly offering to buy her a luxury handbag as a peace offering.

On the song, Latto appears to reject that apology, rapping about already having plenty of luxury bags and adding a line that many fans interpreted as a direct challenge: she wishes a rival would “get in the booth.” The lyric immediately fueled speculation that she is inviting Cardi B to settle their differences on wax.

Social media erupted after the track dropped, with fans split over whether Latto was taking a direct shot at Cardi or simply addressing old drama. Some listeners praised Latto for responding through music, while others argued that Cardi had already apologized and moved on from the situation.

The tension is particularly surprising given that the two rappers previously collaborated on the hit song Put It on da Floor Again in 2023 and were publicly supportive of one another.

Neither Cardi B nor her team has officially responded to the lyrics. However, with fans already debating the meaning behind the song, many are wondering whether this could become the next major female rap feud.
