McDonald’s customers across the UK have voiced their frustration after discovering that one of the chain’s most popular chicken burgers has quietly disappeared from restaurant menus.

The fast-food giant has confirmed that the McSpicy burger, a fan favorite since its UK debut in 2021, has been discontinued and replaced by a new menu item called the Spicy McCrispy.

The change has sparked backlash from loyal customers, many of whom say the replacement fails to live up to the original.

The McSpicy gained a strong following thanks to its crispy chicken fillet coated in spicy breading, giving the burger its signature kick.

Fans argue that the new Spicy McCrispy relies heavily on spicy mayonnaise for flavor rather than having the spice built directly into the chicken itself.

Social media quickly filled with complaints after customers realized the burger had been removed. Some described the decision as a “betrayal,” while others called the new version a “downgrade.” One disappointed fan even launched an online petition urging McDonald’s to bring back the McSpicy.

Many customers have claimed the original burger offered a more authentic spicy flavor and did not need additional sauces to stand out. Others said they contacted McDonald’s directly to express their disappointment over the menu change.

The move is the latest in a series of menu shake-ups by McDonald’s, which regularly introduces new products while retiring older ones. However, the reaction suggests the McSpicy had built a loyal fan base that is not ready to say goodbye.

As criticism continues to spread online, some customers remain hopeful that McDonald’s could eventually bring back the burger, much like other limited-time favorites that have returned due to popular demand. For now, however, the McSpicy appears to have officially disappeared from UK restaurants.
